What are APCs?

Article Processing Charge (APC) is a fee paid by authors or their institutions to the publisher of a scholarly journal for the processing, peer review, formatting, and publication of their scientific article in Open Access mode.

How can I obtain funds/contributions for full/partial payment of APC?

Option 1 - Free Open Access Publishing (Tokens)

• Authors affiliated with the UCT Prague have the option of free publishing in Open Access mode with selected publishers and journals, thanks to so-called transformative agreements.
• Primarily intended for hybrid journals but also some Gold OA. 
• Full payment of APC.

Option 2 - Open Access Fund

• Primarily intended for Gold OA journals not covered by transformative agreements.
• Partial payment of APC (according to the decision of the Vice-Dean for Research and Development).
