Authors affiliated with the UCT Prague have the opportunity for free publishing in Open Access mode starting from the year 2023, thanks to the so-called transformative agreements.
Conditions:
- The corresponding author of the given publication must be an employee or student of the UCT Prague.
- The corresponding author should primarily use the institutional email address (@vscht.cz) - necessary for proper identification.
Publishers with whom the UCT Prague has concluded transformative agreements through CzechELib are listed below (Elsevier is not among them).
Rules for supporting Open Access publishing at the UCT Prague - "tokens"
Organizational settings
- Author eligibility and approval for Open Access is either automatically handled by the publisher (typically for unlimited agreements), or
- CIS performs technical approval in the publisher's systems (including handling complaints, etc.).
Division among individual faculties:
- Given a sufficient number of tokens with all publishers, the allocation at the faculty level is not established.
Decision-making on the allocation of tokens to individual authors:
- Irrelevant (see rules below)
Rules:
- The types of documents and journals for which 'tokens' can be used are determined by individual agreements (in short: practically all types of primary scientific articles, i.e., full-paper, short communication, etc., usually not including editorials, etc.).
- Given a sufficient number of tokens, the system is set to 'first come, first served,' without limitations.
